Dr. Daphne Hubbard Berry, a fellow of the National Writing Project, earned her Ph.D. in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama in 2001, where she majored in curriculum and instruction, Secondary English language arts, and P-12 education administration. As an educator for 26 years, she has served the profession in multiple capacities as associate professor of English Education and Literacy, program reviewer for the CAEP/International Literacy Association, instructional coach, district-level literacy coach, clinical master teacher liaison, supervisor for clinical experiences, program coordinator, consultant for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Scholastic, journal editor, department chair, and teacher of English, reading, creative writing, and freshman composition.
